Police have arrested a suspect accused of sexually assaulting three children over several years at two Mt. Juliet apartment complexes.

Pedro Barrera, 47, was taken into custody Thursday and is charged with three counts of child rape, six counts of aggravated sexual battery and one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child, police said.

The suspect is being held on $150,000 bond, according to Wilson County jail records.

The victims in the case ranged from 7- to 8-years-old at the time of the abuse, according to police. Investigators believe the abuse occurred from 2017 to 2020.

Police believe one victim was assaulted at the LC apartment community on Providence Parkway. Two victims were assaulted at the Glass Creek apartment complex on Old Pleasant Grove Road, according to police.

The suspect was a resident at those apartment communities at the time the assaults occurred, police believe.
